Food Pantry

Joseph’s Barrel

For the poor shall never cease out the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.

 Deuteronomy 15:11 1

"But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth love of God in him?"

John 3:17

The mission of Joseph’s Barrel. (The Food Pantry) is to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing food to the hungry and needy people of our church and community.  This mission is to be carried out by a volunteer work force using donated food and money. Our mission is usually a short term, "stop-gap" help; long term relief is to be usually outside the scope of our mission. In all cases, modeling the loving and compassionate character of Jesus is to be as much a part of our mission as the tangible food that we give.

"The Food Pantry", provides temporary emergency help to the unemployed, the underemployed, to elderly people on fixed incomes, and single parents on an as needed basis. Our food pantry exists to give food to the homeless, the bound, the working poor, as well as those going through a crisis and need assistance. No one with a legitimate need is refused help.

We depend completely on donations of food and money for our operation..Non-perishable food items are collected and placed in the pantry located in our Chapel.

The Food Pantry is open five days a week.  The Pantry is staffed by volunteers from all walks of life to follow the teaching of Jesus to minister to the needs of others.

We invite you to join us in this ministry through your prayers, volunteer service, and donations.
