Music

It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying. For he is good; for his mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.                                         II Chronicles 5:13-14

The music department mission is to enrich the service, which includes praise, worship and devotion in song.  It is the medium through which the soul and spirit reach out to God in worship and praise with a song.  We are there to assist the worshippers in centering their thoughts upon God. For those who are not born again, it’s to prepare their hearts for the Holy Spirit to minister to them.

The Music Ministry serves ECOD with a Praise and Worship Team and five (5) choirs which provides music for Sunday morning worship services.  They also provide music for other services such funeral, revivals and church accepted invitations. 

 The Music Minister and Choir Presidents select song which are inspiring, scripturally based, and supportive of the various aspects of worship including

  1. Worship songs
  2. Altar call – invitation & prayer
  3. Offering

 

Our music reflects the solemnity, beauty, joy, and enthusiasm that characterize the spirit and energy of the choir members as well as the congregation.  From the beat of the drums, to the sound of the organ and key board and other instruments, our praise and worship is an extension of our love relationship with Christ.  It is our prayer that we will be equipped to perform the work that God has assigned us in leading a musical procession to his throne of grace.

 Qualification

 Musically talented born again believers who desire to serve God through their music.

 Choirs

  1. Senior- Seeks to enrich the service in praise, worship and devotion and using music to spread the gospel of Christ while bringing glory to our King.
  2. Voices of Deliverance - Assists the worshippers in centering their thoughts upon God
  3. Men’s -The Men’s Choir  (Male Chorus) is a unique opportunity for all men of the church to display their love for music.  It allows the women to appreciate the covering and leadership God provides to the church body.
  4. Junior Voice of Deliverance– The Youth Choir ministry is a great means by which to draw other young people into the kingdom of God.  This is a great opportunity to lead a new generation of youth to Jesus through music.
  5. All Voices Of Deliverance - Is a unique opportunity for everyone from all the choirs to display their love for music and the Kingdom of God.
