Youth

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.  I Timothy 4:12

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.  II Timothy 2:22

 Our Youth Ministry is a series of opportunities, experiences and activities to give young people a chance to participate in church life, develop their own faith, share their gifts and apply Christianity to every area of their life.

 We believe that youth are our greatest resources and that the Holy Spirit can work through them as well as adults.  We believe it is our responsibility to develop our youth.  Our programs and activities provide a safe environment for them to share and grow.

 Programs / Activities

 

  1. Sunday School – offers youth an opportunity to study the Bible and have lively conversation with a diverse and loving staff
  2. Junior Voices of Deliverance – provides an opportunity to minister through song
  3. Friday Night Youth Services – offers youth an opportunity to lead worship service assuming leader roles such as Praise & Worship leaders, Deacons and ushering, as well as the choir
  4. Shut-in Prayer – provides youth with an opportunity share their faith as they pray for the needs of others and their community
  5. Summer Outing – fosters a welcoming environment for fellowship, socialization and fun
  6. Youth Conference – an annual 3 night event typically held during the first week of August prior the new school  year
  7. Scholarship Program – offers youth involved in the ministries of ECOD scholarships to accredited colleges, universities and vocational programs
  8. Praise Dancing – provides a platform for the youth to serve the Lord in worship through dance
  9. Boys Basket Ball Team – provides an opportunity for camaraderie, teamwork and fellowship
